EPISODE 1 - THE SET OFF
An airplane lands and a voice is heard, saying that this is the first time leaving Japan. The plane lands and a young man is seen walking down a flight of stairs. It was none other than Ryu. He just arrived in the United States and was waiting for his friend to meet him. Ryu thinks back at what had happened that made him come to the US. He was some sort of a woodcutter working for an old man he calls grandfather. His work involved... you guessed it! Woodcutting! The scene now shifts to an old man sawing a big truck... After finish sawing the big trunk, the old man straightens his back and wipes his sweat. In the distance, Ryu walks toward the old man and unknowingly is in the path of the falling tree. The old man tries to warn Ryu but it was too late! The massive tree seemingly falls onto Ryu and the old man rushes over. Assuming Ryu is dead, the old man looks pretty sad until Ryu pops out from a bush and scares the hell out of the old man. Getting angry and impatient with Ryu, the old man chids him but Ryu only gives him his 'million dollar' smile.
A boat comes into the small harbour where Ryu works. Behind the boats wheel is an attractive young girl, and as she runs onto shore and towards the old man's hut, other woodcutters are calling her Ryu's girlfriend! She remarks back as she continues to run. Reaching the hut, the old man tells her that Ryu is training atop the hills where he usually does. So she makes her way to the top of the hill quietly and manages to see Ryu in action... Ryu is deep in concentration and doesn't know that she has arrived and continues with his regular training. He uses the tree as a non animated sparring partner as well as an object to test his strength with. Throwing powrful kicks and punches at the trunk of the tree, Ryu is considered training hard.
RYU'S TRAINING! 
He stops after a while as he realised that the girl was watching him and that she was looking for him. So he stops his training and walks up to her for a quick chat. Thru her, he found out that she has made his favourite dish... meatloaf! He looks at her hungrily and askes her to go back to the hut quickly and that he would go take a shower first. So the girl starts walking off but stops after a few steps as she remembered that she had a letter to pass to Ryu. She takes it out and gives it to him and he keeps looking at the front. She tells him that its from the States and that it could be one of his blond haired girlfriends! And when Ryu mentions that the person who sent him the letter is Ken, she goes on to think that Ryu is a gay!
It turned out that Ken wanted Ryu to come to US immediately but he didn't mention why he wanted Ryu to go. The letter contained a note bearing the words "Come to America" wrapped in an envelope together with loads of cash and an air ticket. Ryu didn't want to leave Japan at first but after much persuasion from the old man, he decide to go and hone his skills by learning from people from other countries. The very next day, Ryu packs his bag and is sent to the harbour by the old man and his so called 'girlfriend'. She gives Ryu the bracelet which her mother left for her saying the it can ward off ill luck and that it will remind him of her as well as the old man. Ryu declined her gift as first saying the it belongs to her mother but after much persuation, Ryu takes the bracelet and puts it on before hopping onto the boat and leaving the island. The girl comments that Ryu would not be returning and the old man keeps silent...
KEN AT 17 YRS OLD
The scene shifts back to the airport where Ryu is still waiting for Ken. Almost immediately, Ken comes along and playfully attacks Ryu from behind. Ryu reacts and the two laugh at each other for a while before making their way out of the airport. Ryu is dumb founded when he saw Ken's chauffered limo. It turned out that Ken's family is very rich and that his house was even grander than anything Ryu had seen before! It took a whole 20 mins to drive up to Ken's mansion from the front gate! Alighting from the car, Ryu is welcomed by hundreds of servents who bow as both of them walk pass. Ryu never stops wowing at everything! As this is his first time seeing such a big house. As they step into the house, Ken's dobberman snarls at Ryu and charges towards him! But when it jumped on Ryu, its actual purpose was only to befriend Ryu and even began licking his face!
They go up to Ken's room and it is filled with trophies and medals on all the events that Ken had won from fighting. Ryu is impressed but Ken says that none of them can hold a candle to Ryu. At this point, they eye each other which gives the viewer the idea that they wanted to fight each other to see who was better. But Ken had
other plans. He brings Ryu to another part of the house where they stopped in front of a small looking dojo. Ryu stares in awe as this was the very dojo where they first trained! Ken had made an exact replica of it! They step into the dojo and Ryu has a feeling of nostalgia. He sees both Ken and himself training when they were younger. Suddenly, Ken throws a white gi at him and asks him to put it on. Ryu smiles and does so and the two has a good fight (and laugh) in the dojo.
That night, both Ryu and Ken go for a spin on Ken's Harley and while riding on the road, they were disturbed and made fun of by a bunch of army drunkards. They were in a jeep and heading for a bar when they drove passed Ken's bike and made remarks at him being too young and riding too fast. Ken was not happy about this and decided to teach them a lesson. He pulls over at the bar where the army guys went and tells Ryu that they were going to enter the bar. Once inside, they are confronted by the bouncer who says that they cannot enter the bar as they were underaged. But Ken flashes a few hundred bucks in the bouncer's face and tells him to go away. He scans the room and sees the bunch of druckards with their girls. He walks up to one of the girls and whispers something into her ear. She immediately stands up and walks off with Ken, leaving the guy she was with just now. A customer at another table comments that the army guy lost his girl to a kid and that angered the military men. They went up to Ken and asked him for an explaination to which Ken calmly replied "The lady enjoys my company more than yours." This pissed the army guys off and they started to attack Ken. Ken dodged their punches easily and even smile at Ryu. Getting the hint, Ryu joined in the fight as the two of them pummel the military men to a pulp!
STREET FIGHTING!They won the few drunkards with ease and hanged around drinking while a man in army boots was walking towards the bar. He opens the door and both Ryu and Ken turned to look... it was a man with a really brushed top hair style...
