Part 1 of 4
The start of the movie shows the fight between Ryu and Sagat and depicts how the Master of Muay Thai became scarred. Throughout the fight however, a monitor cyborg was sending the happenings of the entire battle back to Shadowlaw's HQ. After trading blows and throws, Sagat fires a Tiger Shot at Ryu. He manages to avoid it and counter attacks back. Sagat kicks Ryu to the ground and jumps in for the kill... unfortunately for Sagat, Ryu uppercuts him with a well placed Shoryuken and Sagat's chest bleeds profusly from the hit. Furious, Sagat stands up again and starts to charge at Ryu! Ryu holds his fists together and begins his Hadoken motion. Finally he fires off a well placed Hadoken at Sagat... The outcome of the battle is not shown but its pretty obvious that Sagat lost and that's where he got his scarred chest.
The scene now changes to some kinda anti drug or anti corruption meeting in London, where Cammy is all ready to pounce at one certain mayor who had refused to accept Shadowlaw's bribe (or the likes) to cooperate with them. Just as the mayor was about to get into the car, a reporter goes up to the mayor to ask a few questions. Cammy takes the opportunity, attacking him and she looks like she broke every single bone in the mayor's body! That has gotta hurt like hell! But as she makes her escape, she is chased and captured by the MIB... and taken back to the Interpol's HQ for questioning. There, she claims that she has no recollection of any memories execpt that she was sent to assassinate officials one at a time by an organisation known only as Shadowlaw... |
CAMMY CAPTURED! CAMMY CAPTURED!
The story then shifts to the Interpol HQ where Chunli is giving more indepth info on the Shadowlaw assassins and at the same time discussing the operation to destroy Shadowlaw with 2 other high ranking officials. She later discloses that they will be working with the US Military Air Force as a team to take out Shadowlaw once and for all.
That's when Col Guile comes into the picture... Chunli travels to the Patterson Air Force Base and meets up with Guile and tries to get him to cooperate but to no avail as Guile has his own plans for taking out the bad guy Bison himself. Guile even irritates Chunli by saying "You want Bison destroyed don't ya? So what's the problem?" and she doesn't take it too lightly as U can see from the pix below.
CHUNLI ANGRY! CHUNLI ANGRY!
After the rejection to cooperate by Guile, its time to take a look at the bad guys! Probably somewhere in Thailand, a jet plane zooms across the screen and approaches something that appears to be a statue carved from rock but... the statue suddenly opens up and 'welcomes' the plane! Disembarking from the plane are the 4 'Heavenly Kings', Bison, Sagat, Vega and Balrog. They proceed deeper into the base and are greeted by Bison's scientist cum servant who has created the...
...ultimate monitor cyborg! This replica of the human has the ability to transmit video images instantly from NE spot on the globe back to the Shadowlaw HQ. (This was shown in the beginning of the anime when Ryu was battling Sagat...) Thus enabling Bison to 'recruit' street fighters much easier to do his dirty bidding. By 'recruiting' or capturing such skillful street fighters from around the globe, he can brainwash them and turn them into mindless assassins that will kill for Shadowlaw juz like what Cammy has been doing. The organisation aims at the world leaders so that when the time comes, Shadowlaw will be the strongest among the fighters.
Bison then asks his scientist for information on Ryu, who he has been searching for for quite sometime (since Sagat was defeated). "Any man who can topple Sagat is the man I want found!" he commands. Bison continues to say that even if Shadowlaw has to send a cyborg deep into the Himalayas, Ryu must be found! Right at this moment, in the deepest part of the Himalayas (coincidence?), Ryu is training diligantly to train and perfect his Dragon Punch. Standing in his 'ready' stance, Ryu is seen concentrating very hard. "Shoryuken!" After he excutes a flawless uppercut, Ryu continues 'meditating' in his 'ready' stance as the wind blows through his hair. Stareing far into the horizon with his fists in front if him, Ryu thinks about his master and his many teachings... |
These were the exact words that Ryu's master had asked him and Ken since they had been training under him... Ryu then thinks back about his past and the sparring sessions that he and Ken used to practise and to hone their skills... he is then brought back to reality as he remembers what Ken had said to him after their sparring session once...
Ken is driving in his red Porsche and is late for the date with his fiancee Eliza. Upon arrival, he kisses her on the mouth and apologizes for being late. Pulling out a chair and sitting down, Ken then goes on to tell her that he had won the tournament earlier in the day where he had underestimated his opponent causing him to be late for this appointment. Nevertheless, Eliza congratulates him... but Ken's mind drifts and he can only think about being able to challenge Ryu, his long time 'rival' which he has not seen in upteen years since they both left the dojo long ago. |
The scene changes again and now we are in China. Here we meet a Hong Kong guy named Feilong. Feilong is a famous actor in China and he was missing when his director was looking for him to continue filming... Feilong had gone to watch an underground street fight where he saw Ryu. Challenging Ryu, Feilong and Ryu both started off with good attacks and defenses but as the fight progresses, its is clearly shown that Ryu is a far more superior fighter than Feilong. After having his arm and leg badly injured, Feilong unleashes his 'secret' move, the Flaming Fire Kick... he manages to hit Ryu who falls back from the impact, but as Feilong descends, Ryu picks himself up and executes the Hurricane Kick! This move hits Feilong square on the face about 4 times in a row and he collapses down to the ground...
After Feilong regained his consciousness, both him and Ryu took a walk along the streets and started a conversation. Feilong feels better about losing after he realised that Ryu was the Japanese fighter who defeated Sagat some years back. Ryu also found out more about the Shadowlaw organization and that Sagat was in it too. After a short while of silence, Ryu walks off without even saying goodbye, leaving Feilong alone... "So long, see you again my friend..." Feilong muttered...
